Privacy Policy
ValleyText ("we," "us") helps local service businesses respond to their customers by text. This page explains what information we handle, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it in plain English on purpose.
Information we collect
- Contact information you give us — your name, business name, phone number, and email when you book a call, contact us, or become a client.
- Messages — the contents of text conversations handled through our service, so the service can function and so our business clients can see their own customer conversations.
- Basic usage information — standard technical data when you visit this website, such as browser type and pages viewed.
Text messaging (SMS) terms
- Consent. Text messages are sent only in response to inbound contact — when you call, text, or submit a form to us or to a business using our service. We do not send cold or unsolicited marketing texts, and we do not use purchased contact lists.
- Message frequency varies by conversation (for example: a reply to your inquiry, an appointment confirmation, a reminder, or a review request after a completed job). Message and data rates may apply.
- Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help. Opt-outs are honored automatically and permanently.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
How we use information
- To deliver the service: responding to missed calls, answering questions, booking appointments, sending confirmations and reminders.
- To support our business clients: showing them their own customers' conversations, appointments, and lead reports.
- To operate and improve ValleyText, and to communicate with you about your account or inquiry.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't use one client's customer data for any other client or for advertising.
- We don't message anyone who has opted out.
Who we share information with
We use trusted software providers to deliver the service (for example, our messaging and scheduling platform and payment processor). They process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Customer data belongs to our clients
If you texted a business that uses ValleyText, that business is the owner of your conversation and contact details. We process that information on the business's behalf to provide the service. Questions about a specific business's practices are best directed to that business.
Data retention & security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work with established platforms that maintain industry-standard protections.
Your choices
You can opt out of texts at any time (reply STOP), and you can contact us to ask what information we hold about you or to request its deletion, subject to our clients' ownership of their own customer records and any legal requirements.
Children
Our services are for businesses and their adult customers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
